The internet is increasingly used by everyone all around the world. The information and communication technology has changed over the past 20 years with the emergence of social media. Mobile technology has played an important role in shaping social media. Social media is one of the best platforms to find and interact with new people. In almost everything, we use the internet. Today, just a click or two is enough to get the data from anywhere in the world. Internet is a tool that we use to interact with one another. There is internet for everything from shopping, banking facilities, booking tickets everything can be done in just one click.

Internet in the field of education has been incredibly useful as it facilitates both information and communication. Students can access videos related to their studies and can make their study more interesting. The Internet can also be used to create and share knowledge and develops new ways of teaching and learning. Internet is not only a great place to store information but also allows retrieving the data whenever needed. The Internet has allowed the student-teacher interaction more compared to that of past years. When a student misses a class he/she can interact with their teacher with the help of chat apps, social media, emails, and other communication facilities.

Online based distance education allows much more flexibility compared to that of the traditional classroom. You learn online anywhere at any time. Students can use the internet at 24/7. If the students have doubt they can clarify with their teachers through online or else they can post the questions in forums on any topic whenever they want.


Internet and Culture

Culture is defined as a way of behavior. To learn about a culture one can just use a search engine and can access the information about the desired culture. Also one can learn more about the beliefs of a particular culture before experiencing it. Culture has also negatively affected by the internet. There is a lot of information available on the internet, but those information may not be always correct and accurate. Internet helps societies in different ways like online shopping, online jobs, online marketing, banking, etc. It provides the freedom of option to share feelings and thoughts within society.

Social media can be defined as a platform for the people to share or exchange information’s, images, videos, etc through a particular network. Now a day’s social media plays a vital role in everyone’s life from shopping to banking. With the emergence of social networking sites like Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, etc people can easily connect with each other.

As per the recent survey, 90% of college students use social networks. The rapid development of communication devices like mobile phones, laptop, computer, iPads, etc changes the lifestyle of people. Students can use the social media network as a tool in a better way for messaging, texting. Some social networking sites conduct exams which plays an important role to enhance the student’s knowledge. Social media marketing helps young workers to become successful marketers.

Social Media in the field of business which helps for marketing make the connection with friends, to update news, and to make followers.  Many of the organizations promote their business by giving advertisements using social networking sites. Customers from anywhere in the world can connect with the business using social media organizations. Social media helps to increase the awareness about specific brands in detail with no budget.

Many social media sites are popular to communicate with each other. It helps people to make new friends, share data’s like images, videos, audios, etc. Now social media changes the lifestyle of the society.  Many young people’s day starts with communication and conversation through social media.

One of the main negative effects of social media is that people get addicted to that. People spend a lot of time in social media which can divert the concentration from a particular task. Useful information’s can be shared over social networking sites.

From the above content, we can see that the internet is a totally new world emerging the 29th century. It creates new ways for people to communicate, work and share information. Internet influences almost all aspects of our daily life. We cannot say that the internet is good in all situations. There is some harmful effect of using the internet. Whether it does well or harm to the life of people it depends on how well we exploit it. We have to analyze how the internet affects socially. Internet should be used for the development and welfare purpose and should it not be used as an objective.
