As an Android user, I'm really a fan of Dark Mode or simply Night Mode on any apps whenever it's possible.

As an Android user, I'm really a fan of "Dark Mode" or simply "Night Mode" on any apps whenever it's possible to use. Like on Twitter, Telegram Messaging app, and Reddit. Besides how cool
it looks, dark mode saves lives—battery lives. It uses lesser battery power of your smartphones which is a better way to keep
    your phone live longer.

Update: Some iPhones can also enable this feature on their Facebook messenger app using the same method, which they have to update the app in App store.

So, How you can have Dark Mode on Facebook Messenger with Android and IOS?

To allow the mode, first you have to update the app on its latest version on play store (version 204.0.0.14.119) then you have to send a moon emoji to someone, using messenger app specifically the half crescent one.

After that, the screen will be filled with falling crescent moon emojis, like when you sent a snowflake emoji or a heart one. And there's a prompt message on the top of the app saying "You Found Dark Mode" and a button to redirect to
app settings. There, you will finds the dark mode toggle to enable or disable the dark mode feature of the app.

When you enable this feature, you’ll also get a message that it’s still a work in progress and might not be available everywhere in Messenger for the time being.

You can see the step by step instructions on the animated image (GIF) below with my device.

<amp-img src="https://kenkarlo.com/assets/images/how-to-enable-facebook-messenger-dark-mode-on-android.gif" layout="responsive" height="360" width="640"></amp-img>

Also, you don't necessarily have to send the crescent moon emoji to specific friend you can do it, just like what I did, I just send the emoji to a random messenger's bot, a spammy one.

If you found this tutorial helpful then don't forget to share.

Learn on how to secretly read your facebook's messages without being seen by the sender or other people in your group chat

We can't deny that Facebook messenger has many important uses, as for communications, especially with its real-time feature of being known on who can see your messages in a group-chat or to someone you want to message to.

Read also: How to Hide your Active Status in Facebook not just in Messenger App

It makes easier to tell when someone is ignoring you or the other way around. Sometimes, some people's messages are somewhat annoying, in result, you're going to avoid their messages just for a moment of time or don't even feel like being contacted. Once you accidentally open the message, it will be marked as seen by you, and you're feeling obliged to reply even if you don't want to. Of course, you can block them, but that makes an excessive move and an illogical reason.

So ignoring their messages or hiding your facebook status to feel them that you're away from your phone will do the work.

But for this trick, as I read lots of tutorials online and found lots of them telling us to proceed to airplane mode will do the trick. I tried it on my account and to my friend's account, and, unfortunately, it doesn't work.

Tried it too many times and get the same result.

So I tried different ways on how to deal with it and to catch the trick and fortunately, I've come up with an idea and it works. Yes, it works!

So, how did I make it happen?

Well, let's go to the most commonly used trick first, for some short messages you can read them on your notification panels, but for those longer messages, uhm, sadly not.

<amp-img layout="responsive" src="/assets/images/article/14123-read-facebook-messenger-messages-without-being-seen-notification-panel.jpg" alt="How to read Facebook Messenger's messages without being seen by other person" width="800" height="500" ></amp-img>

Now, on how you can read your facebook messenger's long messages without being noticed by the sender.

First, just like what the other tutorials did, you have to enable airplane mode to turn off your internet connection.

<amp-img layout="responsive" src="/assets/images/article/76512-read-facebook-messenger-messages-without-being-seen-airplane-mode-on.jpg" alt="How to read Facebook Messenger's messages without being seen by other person" width="800" height="319" ></amp-img>

At this time you can open and read any Facebook messages thread in offline mode without being noticed by the sender.

Next, once you're done reading all of the messages you want, and before you turn on your internet connection, make sure you mark all facebook's messages thread as unread by swiping left the thread and 3 buttons will appear and choose the first one, choose the "Mark as unread".

<amp-img layout="responsive" src="/assets/images/article/1231-read-facebook-messenger-messages-without-being-seen-mark-as-unread.jpg" alt="How to read Facebook Messenger's messages without being seen by other person" width="800" height="500" ></amp-img>

This is to prevent the function to initiate the Seen feature of Facebook Messenger.

And that's it, feel free to do it once you're annoyed of replying to someone or something related.

Is this helpful? Feel free to share this article with your network.

Apart from the common chat features like reality masks and emoticons, Messenger Kids also has a plethora of other great features

An App in Its Own Right

As Facebook is taking over the world, it has decided to let kids join in the fun by introducing Messenger Kids. Like Facebook Messenger itself, parents download this application into their child’s phone or tablet.

Thereafter, they go on to create the child’s profile and then approve of the family or friends that can communicate with the child. But, Messenger Kids only favors children who are thirteen years of age and below.

Needless to say, ‘tweens’ do not need a Facebook account, thus a messenger account makes for easy and convenient communication.

The Great Features

Apart from the common chat features like reality masks and emoticons, Messenger Kids also has a plethora of other great features that include:

Safety filters - As this application creates a safe chat
environment for kids, it comes with safety filters that flag inappropriate
content like nudity or violence. Parents are also notified whenever their child
blocks or unblocks a contact.

Kid-friendly filters - Messenger Kids comes with kid-friendly filters
like drawing tool kits that enable kids to express themselves in creative ways

Set controls -
Parents can set the controls that they are
most comfortable with. They can also manage their kids’ contacts, view the
photos and videos through the parent dashboard.

An education section - When kids visit this section of the
application they gain valuable information that enables them to navigate the
application. For instance, they find out
why they use their names and why parental control is important.

How It Works

After a child’s profile is set up on
Messenger Kids, parents can approve or create a contact list for them. This may
be inclusive of friends and family at large. After this process, a home-screen
appears, showcasing the approved contacts on one side of the screen.

Here, the kid can dive into video chats or
send messages to their approved contacts. The application records details such
as the last login time as well as the last sent messages.

If the parent is not comfortable with a
particular contact, then they can be able to block or unblock them from their
child’s approved contact list.

For laptop and desktop users, here's an article tutorial on how you can download and install Messenger Kids on PC - Windows or Mac.

The Concerns

Messenger Kids comes with parental controls that enable parents to track their kids and everything that they are doing.

But one downside is that the application does not allow parents to spy on the chats. Thus, the only way to find out what your child is saying is to look at their screen.

The Bottom Line

This version of Facebook is best-suited for parents who want to allow their children to have online experiences but still guide them through it.

As social media remains a relevant part of our lives, Messenger Kids shows children exactly what they should look forward to in this modern world.

Even so, parents who feel like their kids are too young to explore do not need the application. It is up to you to determine whether the application is the right fit for your child.

I was also just as intrigued when my husband Paul told me he last went to the dentist in 2017 albeit the good experience that he had. That goes to show that dentistry in metropolitan areas is still wanting.
