        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As of March 10, the World Health Organization (WHO) <a href="https://www.who.int/dg/speeches/detail/who-director-general-s-opening-remarks-at-the-media-briefing-on-covid-19---11-march-2020" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">declared the Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 a pandemic</a>. Twitter announced that working from home will be mandatory for all its employees based in Hong 
Kong, Japan, and South Korea offices are due in part to government restrictions. </p><p>Twitter's top&nbsp; priority remains the health and safety of its Tweeps, "We 
also have a responsibility to support our communities, those who are vulnerable, and the healthcare providers who are on the front lines of this pandemic".&nbsp;</p><p>Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, also announced that a similar policy would be put into place at <a href="https://squareup.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Square</a> (which he is also the CEO). </p>

<p>The company's goal is to reduce the risk that anyone might contract or inadvertently spread the virus. It is important to take these 
proactive steps to protect its employees and others and minimize the spread 
of the virus.</p><p>Other large tech companies, including Amazon, Google, and <a href="https://kenkarlo.com/tags/facebook" target="_blank">Facebook</a>,  have 
implemented work from home recommendations as well  in response to
